Pavel Andreievich Chekov was born in the year 2241 in Pushkino, Russia, Earth to an Andrei Dimitrievich and Larisa Irinova(who died later in Pavel's early teenage years, leaving him with his father of whom he shared a good relationship with). Excelling at his academics and considered a prodigy in mathematics, Chekov graduated from Moscow State University in 2256, at the age of fifteen. He later went on to further his studies, enrolling in Starfleet Academy the same year. Chekov was top of his class in stellar cartography and transporter theory, and an expert in advanced theoretical physics. He graduated a mere two years later in 2258, at the age of seventeen. Chekov was then assigned to a Navigator position on the USS Enterprise under Captain Christopher Pike.

Chekov is currently serving on the Enterprise under Captain James Kirk as a Navigator, with the ability to assist in engineering should the situation demand it.

Because of his young age, brilliant intellect, and sped up educational experience, Chekov is known for awkward first impressions and attempts to fit in better with social situations given the fact that everyone around him is older. But once he relaxes, he does rather well on solely his natural charm and good mood.
